Where do we meet for our sessions?

Individual sessions and small groups are held at my private office and sitting room . 112 Wallis Drive, Peterborough, Ontario. K9J 6C1

What is your cancellation policy?

  • Min 24 hours notice no exceptions - no charge for re-booking. If less than 24 hours you will be charged, no exceptions.
  • If you have booked and paid for two or more sessions and do not want to continue after the first one, a refund for remaining sessions is available if you email me within 24 hours after the initial session.

Do you also work with clients on-line or via telephone?

Yes, I offer on-line sessions via Skype or Messenger. You must have a smart phone or a high-speed internet connection and a computer or laptop with camera and microphone. Phone sessions work well, and I have a long distance Canadian plan to call you.

How is working with you different than talking with friends or family?

Friends and family members are well meaning and concerned about you and your situation, however they often have a difficult time being unbiased and will offer conflicting and sometimes unasked for advice. They may unknowingly increase the drama surrounding your situation and attempt to solve your problems for you. As well, they may be tempted to share your information with others in your friend or family group without asking you first. As a trained therapist I provide unbiased guidance and I am not emotionally attached to your situation. I am solution focused on resolving your issue. I do not offer advice. I listen and reflect back to you what I hear you saying, or sometimes what you aren't saying. My years of experience working with trauma survivors and youth at risk gives me the knowledge of how to put the brakes on your emotional rollercoaster and focus on clearing your mind. I ask specific questions and provide activities that allow you to understand what is happening to you, and why, so you can solve your own issue. All our conversations are private and strictly confidential and will never be shared without your express written permission.

Can I contact you in-between scheduled sessions?

Yes you can email me twice between sessions if you have a short question, concern, or need to check-in. If your email is lengthy and in-depth I will require you to wait for your next session or book the next available appointment.

What if I need to re-schedule my appointment?

No problem - contact me via e-mail at least 24 hours before your appointment to reschedule without penalty.

After a session can I contact you if I have a question?

Yes, you may email me twice with short questions, concerns, or for clarification. If your email is lengthy and in-depth I will require you to wait for your next session or book the next available appointment. With your permission I may also email you with a follow up or check in.

What should I bring to a session?

I provide water and tea, but feel free to bring your own beverage if you need. I provide paper and pen for notes but you may want your own journal. Whatever you need to feel comfortable - bring slippers or indoor shoes if you like. Dress in layers - my office temperature is between 21 and 22 degrees but somatic work can make a person feel cold or flush hot as the emotional and physical energy transforms and moves through you. I have warm wraps and fans as needed.

How do I pay for sessions?

All sessions and workshops must be paid for in advance. E-transfer to my account, or cash please.

Do you have a financial sliding scale ?

Yes, I reserve one spot each week for people who identify as needing a financial break. Email me with your request to be added to my sliding scale or trade/barter list.

What if I forget to notify you and miss our session?

Without 24 hours prior notice your missed session will not be refunded. You must contact me to re-schedule, and pay for a new session.

What if you have to cancel my session ?

If I have to cancel our session, I will notify you at least 24 hours in advance and re-schedule a new time that is convenient for you.

Do you work with men?

Yes - emotional and physyical pain and trauma happens to everyone. I have quite a few male clients who specifically come for healing through the process of PSYCH-K® because it is solution-focused.
